Police officers arrest a man for allegedly pulling the fire alarm during Henry Rollins' speech on campus Thursday night.

A man was arrested after a brief chase for allegedly pulling a fire alarm during a speaking event featuring spoken word artist Henry Rollins Thursday night.

"I saw him get buff with security," said J.J. Williams, sophomore pre-nursing major, who witnessed the confrontation. "Security got upset."

After the initial confrontation with a security officer the man allegedly pulled the fire alarm and fled. "He shouted 'Get away from me' and flexed his arms," Williams said.

Shortly after fire alarms went off in the University Union, police officers chased the man from the Union Ballroom and caught him on a dirt trail next to the top of the Guy West Bridge.

"(The) security guard called for backup which he should have done," Williams said. "He didn't know if the dude had anything on him, so that was smart he called (for more) security."

Rollins' event was not interrupted and continued despite the fire alarms.

Police would not comment on the arrest at this time.
