Mexican restaurant is no bueno

Abstract:
El Patron has the potential to be a fun, popular place, but as long as their food is just ok, and their prices are above reasonable for college students, it won't be the new "hot-spot."...

I think that what you are saying is not true. In fact, I have been to El Patron many times and I enjoy the atmosphere, the food, and the service. I should know that this food is authentic Mexican food since I am Mexican myself. I also had time to speak with the Chef which knows what he is doing.

I've dined at El Patron three times and each time the food was nothing short of amazing. I've had the fish tacos (scrumptious), the veggie burrito (very tasty) and the Pecado Maya. Each was among the best I have ever had in Mexican restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area or Sacramento (I haven't been to Mexico since I was 6). I would recommend it to anyone ... and have.

I think El Patron have the best Mexican food I have had in a long time. It is fresh, innovative and original. The bar and the drinks are amazing. El Parton will be my new hot spot.

The rich, complex Mole Poblano was one of the very best that I have ever tasted. The Pescado Maya was a delight, packed full of flavor and topped with a very sexy sauce. The robust salsa served with fresh, crisp tortilla chips sent my taste buds soaring. I wonder what qualifies Casey's as a food critic on authentic Mexican cuisine. I have written for Sunset Magazine, cooked in the three & four star restaurants in San Francisco(that would eqaul 4 & 5 stars for Sacramento)and taught many, many professional culinary classes. Did you eat only once in this restaurant? There is a code of honor to eat at least three times in a restaurant before you review it. El Patron deserves a few more forks, in my opinion. I am definitely going back!

I've had dinner at El Patron ~4/5 times in the past four months with my family. We have not been disappointed. As a matter of fact, I think the food at El Patron is among the best in Northern California. For those who have not tried them yet, order the tacos de arrachera. Also, order as an appetizer the rajas, simply the best. With all due respect, to the Hornet critic, You have no clue, I sense a little bias in your review and or possibly a hidden agenda. I say this because you are so far off the mark. Go back, give it another try. Maybe you or El Patron were having a bad day.
