This CD was meant to show the proverbial rollercoaster that his life was that year, hence the styles ranging from peaceful and serene to manic and paranoid. The musical style makes complete sence if you are aware of the back story.
As far as lyrical content the songs are written in a manner that regardless of the path in life you have taken you can relate to the music you can take the songs and make them yours based on your own struggles in life. The sign of a powerful, well written piece of music is the ability to cross markets and to grab the attention of the listener.
As for your statement of Motley Crue fans not liking this because it is lyrically and Musically different, please don't be so fast to judge us. Motley Crue has no one sound, every CD has grown and changed lyrically and reached a different level on musical aspects because of the abilities of Mr Sixx. You are doing a disservice to him and his talents and his rather large and dedicated fan base by pigeon holing us into one group and claiming to understand our musical taste.
For anyone that read this far.. Buy the CD .. Buy the Book and listen, truly listen to the music and listen to your heart when you read and you will find that there is more to the story then presented in this review.
