I read with interest music reviews and I always wonder does the person reviewing actually listen to the content and understand the meaning behind the music. From reading your review the answer is clearly no you don't.

This CD was meant to show the proverbial rollercoaster that his life was that year, hence the styles ranging from peaceful and serene to manic and paranoid. The musical style makes complete sence if you are aware of the back story.

As far as lyrical content the songs are written in a manner that regardless of the path in life you have taken you can relate to the music you can take the songs and make them yours based on your own struggles in life. The sign of a powerful, well written piece of music is the ability to cross markets and to grab the attention of the listener.

As for your statement of Motley Crue fans not liking this because it is lyrically and Musically different, please don't be so fast to judge us. Motley Crue has no one sound, every CD has grown and changed lyrically and reached a different level on musical aspects because of the abilities of Mr Sixx. You are doing a disservice to him and his talents and his rather large and dedicated fan base by pigeon holing us into one group and claiming to understand our musical taste.

For anyone that read this far.. Buy the CD .. Buy the Book and listen, truly listen to the music and listen to your heart when you read and you will find that there is more to the story then presented in this review.

Did we listen to the same CD? I thought this CD was awesome, it really draws the listener in, allowing us into what Nikki was really going through at this really low point in his life. I don't understand how you can say that the CD needs to give you a reason to care. I think it does that and then some.

Wow! my friend. You don't really get it do you? This is not about "creating a new sound" if you have read any of Nikki's comments about the music you would know he really had no intention of writing for radio or even "crue" fans for that matter. Non addicts ect ect have a hard time with the depth of this stuff and thats ok...however please understand that there is a very LARGE part of the world that this music speaks to both word and sound and it is us he is aiming it at not you "normies". In the future just please say you don't get it and leave the remarks about whining and complaining at the door. I dare you to open up about some of the most intimate negative parts of YOUR life in front of millions in order to help thousands of others maybe try to heal.

I understand that we all have and are entitled to our own opinions, and I respect yours. I think that before you are too harsh with yours, you should investigate what this music is about. I am fairly sure that you have not read the book that goes with this music or have not studied up a little on what Nikki Sixx is about now and what he was about 20 years ago. When you do come to a better understanding I bet your opinion will change. Have a great day. Thanks, Sherry

If you had done any research you would have seen that the CD is a companion the Book!!!!!! You Dumb $%#@&! Remember that you are to have all the facts before you write the article!!!!! "For me, that is not the biggest problem. It is that the music sounds like a generic concept album that is being released to coincide with a book, if not mainly to promote it."

Are there ANY journalists that actually research their intended topic? Yes, this cd IS to coincide with the book. Or "promote" the book as you stated. You know, I believe that bad press is better the good press. Bad press gets people wondering what is so bad about your topic, which gets them out to buy the product, to see what is so bad; which in this case, makes more money for the charity. So, my friend, continue. More sales, more money, more help for these kids.

As many of my fellow commentors have basically said, this cd is not out to be a crue like cd. He did not create it to try and make it better than anything else. It is a compilation of an eruption of feelings that were put into this book from the memories of his darkest year(s). It is creative, yet common. So what if it has hints of other bands. I, myself don't like the whole cd. Although I do appreciate it, and like it 'AS A WHOLE'. It is not what I was expecting either, but you know what? It's from Nikki Sixx, and I am a faithful fan. That makes it all worth it.
