Hockey games consist of 3 periods NOT 3 quarters.

["We started out flat in the first quarter. The majority of our chances (to score) came in the second and third quarter," Kesner said.]

I highly doubt that Kesner said that. He's been playing hockey long enough to know he plays the game in periods. Furthermore, he has taken enough math courses in his life to understand that 3 quarters implies that there MUST be a 4th. There is no 4th quarter. There is no 1st quarter. There are only 3 periods. Overtime is EXTRA time played if regular time(3 periods) ends with a tie.

Lastly, Danovich doesn't play for the hockey team and he certainly didn't assist my goal from the stands.

Wow, little harsh are you? She made a mistake. All you had to do was e-mail her to get it changed because yes I doubt Kesner said that. But, you don't have to nail her to the cross. Just be happy she's coming out to cover the games. Atleast she got it right that you made a goal. Besides, you don't have a current roster up online. So, it's not her fault if she doesn't match up the numbers on the jerseys to the names of the players right if the roster she has is wrong. Give her a break man! Go on the ice and chill.

JD, You're right. My frustration got the best of me. So, I apologize for that. In my defense though, it's difficult to read about my own sport(let alone my own games) and feel as though the average reader(not hockey educated) will be getting a very wrong idea about the sport. Perhaps I took it personally. The team definitely does appreciate the journalists coming out for us. I'll be less of an ass in the future.

Charles, dude, it is a forum for commentary so I won't be shy to express my own.
