Abstract:
Lila Jacobs, Sacramento State professor of educational leadership and president of the Sacramento chapter of the California Faculty Association died June 27 of cancer....
Dr. Jacobs was a wonderful human being who not only voiced the need for change but also worked for it. If it were not for Dr. Jacobs, many gifted administrators would have gotten lost in the way.
It is an honor to have known her, for that brief time. It is a blessing to have learned from her. She had a way of making you feel needed. Once when class was hard and life was harder, I wanted to quit. She told me that I was so important to the group. She convinced me that I did not know my worth and I chose to stay.
Dr. Jacobs saw gifts in me, in us, which we may still search for. I will never give up, because I am an important part of educational change. Dr. Jacobs told me so.
May she rest in Peace
