Greg,
I have lived through anxiety and panic attacks. Your article pinpoints it exactly. And the resources you offer could be a life saver. Thanks for the insight. Patricia Daugherty

Greg,

I'm so sorry that you had to deal with this problem alone (it seems). Like you I suffered with panic attacks and general anxiety for years before I was diagnosed by my state university (SDSU) psychologist about four years ago.

It is very brave of you to share your story. People with anxiety need all the help and information they can find.

I'm very glad to hear that you are better. Best of luck.

I didn't realize that I had panic disorder, I felt so overwhelmed by fear, I didn't want to leave the house or sleep or eat, but I too went to my doctor, I got on medication, that was about 7 years ago. Unfortunately, my meds, that I responded so well to, were discontinued, about 2 years later, since then, I have felt that I will have to just learn to cope with it, cause it doesn,t seem to be going away. I have good days and bad, but the nights, when I am tired and I jerk awake and my heart starts pounding and I start sweating I have to force myself to be rational and try to realize that I am in control and that I can do this, but in all honesty and fairness it so damn hard, especially when the rest of the world doesn't even seem to understand how you could possibly be that afraid of everyday life. I am glad to know that there is help out there, to this day, I still have to go to the doctor for sedatives if something very stressful happens or even just a big change in my life can bring it on. Too tired to try any more meds though, the wrong ones can make you feel pretty awful, but the right ones can give you your life back.

Sincerely,

Michelle Epp
