Don't quit, Hillary

Abstract:
Warning: A catastrophic implosion is likely to occur to the Democratic Party in the event that Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton steps out of the race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

The prognosis seems inevitable as Sen. Clinton's campaign seems to be coming to an end....

I am the among minority in the Black population that support Senator Hillary Clinton. Why they cannot see the disaster looming ahead is beyond me. If I felt that Senator Obama was the best most qualified electable candidate, I would be front and center in my community campaigning for him, but in my heart, I know that he is not. I said way back in November that all Obama and his supporters were going to do was split the Democratic Party, and I was right. I am a person of character. No one seeking to be PRESIDENT of the United States gets a free pass here based upon skin color, and that is exactly what is happening in the Black community. We, as Black people, know better than anyone on earth what it feels like to have something deserved, taken away. Hillary Clinton has been fighting for the advancement of "AMERICAN" people, all AMERICAN people throughout her career. The lies and character assassination based accusations leveled at Senator Clinton from the Obama campaign/supporters have been so brutal, and mean spirited. I am going to have to pray for the strength to cast a vote for Obama in November. A losing vote for him, I might add. The Republican Party is enjoying the show, while patting one foot just waiting for Obama to be "appointed" as our nominee to let the ass whipping began. Thanks to Mr. Obama associates, lack of experience, arrogance, allegiance with the extremist left wing "nut" faction of the Democratic party,(Edward Kennedy, and John Kerry among others) if our country was not at the brink of the disaster on every level, it would be fun to watch.

They only have to ask one question, "what has Obama done that qualifies him for the office of President of the United states? I have organized voters. Does that qualify me to be President? I don't have a Rev. Wright, or a militant husband to boot.

Mr. Nieto,

To paraphrase a familiar quote used by your beloved Clinton Dynasty, "It's the numbers, stupid".

He has the numbers, she does not. He has limited baggage, she has trainloads and her closets are stuffed.

If she continues with her blatant effort to politically strong-arm the Party as she and Bill have done for the last 20 years, she will fracture it and cost us the White House. Many think she and Bill secretly wish this as it will give them another shot in 2012.

She knows and we know that she played the race card in WV. Using an entire redneck, bigoted state as justification for nomination is the apex of political pandering. To continue in her lost crusade is the height of ego gratification.

The Presidency does not exist for ego gratification. Left leaning college students and their respective universities, however, do.

You know who...

Burt,

Obama doesn't have as much baggage as the majority of politicians because HE HASN'T DONE ANYTHING. He's a novice, and while his message is inspiring, he doesn't have the credentials to back it up. If you want to talk numbers, what about Michigan and Florida whose voters have been completely disenfranchised? What about the number of big states Clinton has won? California, New York? Or swing states? Ohio, Pennsylvania? And West Virginia - an entire state you write off as being redneck and bigoted (and ps, the term redneck is a racial slur in case you weren't sure), no Democratic nominee has won the White House without winning West Virginia since 1916. That's not pandering, its a fact.

The numbers argument discounts the fact that the whole purpose of super delegates is that they are supposed to make up their own mind, based on who they feel is most electable, and that conclusion is often a separate issue from the popular vote taken in whole. But speaking of the popular vote...

Those people who talk about numbers like Obama has a mandate from the people or something are forgeting the fact that HALF of the votes have been cast AGAINST him. He's not winning by 30 points or something, he's got a 1.8% lead, and if you count Michigan and Florida, Clinton has a .08 lead in the popular vote. Its only arrogance and ego that would call for her to step out of the race when for all intents and purposes, half of the electorate wants her to stay in....

I don't agree with Clinton's or Obama's views, but I do think letting each citizen vote is the most democratic thing we can do. The nomination process is healthy and will be good for vote turnout in the fall.

Outstanding.

Now perhaps she can proudly and publicly display her Confederate battle flags come the day Democratic Party dons finally "convince" Obama that he can't do without her as his vice-president.

Given that the Republican Party has so stilted our economy and foreign relations with myriad countries and countless former friends over the course of nearly a full decade, it's incredibly difficult to believe that the Democratic Party, only seven months after creaming the Republicans in the November 2007 congressional elections, still can't seem to find it's way out of the moral cesspool into which it splashed under Bill Clinton. Could it be that moderate Joe Lieberman is right after all, and neither Hillary nor Obama are the answer for the Dems? It's very likely. Don't say you weren't warned come November, Mr. Nieto and fellow party apparatchiki.

Lieberman actually seems to be the only veteran Democrat who isn't blindly trying to pin the tail on the donkey these days, and yet the incredible ignorance, arrogance, and obstinacy of his fellow Democrats won't allow them to acknowledge that he in fact might just be the right man for their ticket; the right man necessary to heal the historically bitter 16-year national political rift wrought by...you guessed it...President Bill Clinton.

If Democrats were genuinely seeking peace and reconciliation with the coming general election, they certainly wouldn't be looking to either Hillary or Obama. But it's your election to spoil, Democrats. Do with it what you will. All John McCain needs do now is sit back while Hillary and Obama heedlessly devour one another and totally destroy any semblance of former party unity. With folks like Nieto out there, looks like we can look forward to another four years of big business and NAFTA running the show. Thanks again.

I too think Hillary should keep on fighting. I have to wonder how people can vote for a guy like Obama despite him being a racist and an anti-semite? He also has no experience as he is a first term Senator. This man also has said he's willing to negotiate with terrorist nations like Iran. How can those who vote for him live with themselves? Apparently, those who support him share his views. He's also declared himself the winner before the race is even over. How arrogant can you be?

Yes, the votes from Michigan & Florida should be counted. People took the time to vote and they voted for Clinton. It's not Hillary that has been bringing the party down, it's the Democratic Party and the Obama campaign. If they don't count the votes from Michigan and Florida, then it will be seen as a plan to make sure Clinton doesn't get the nomination and therefore it'll seem like the Democratic Party had a hidden agenda the entire time. It will also show how much they don't want a woman in the White House. If they don't choose Hillary then you can expect many of her supporters to vote for McCain. Clinton has shown herself to be popular amongst women and Senior Citizen voters which is a very large but important demographic. A lot of times they helped to decide the elections. Clinton has also been popular amongst the blue collar and working class.

Clinton has also won key states that Obama hasn't. If the Dems want to win they should have Clinton as their candidate because in many of the polls and scenarios I've seen, it shows her in the lead if she faces McCain. She also has a better chance at winning states that are largely Republican. Michigan and Florida are states she's shown she can win in. She also won in Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and even California which usually goes with a Republican candidate.

Clinton also won in Arizona a state in which the Governor said she was supporting Obama. She also won Indiana which Obama said he'd win. I don't like any of the candidates in this race but I have to give Hillary her props for continuing the fight and not giving up. We need a President like that instead of one that is inexperienced and who's willing to negotiate with terrorist groups and nations that are determined to destroy the United States and Israel.

If Hillary should lose the Democratic nomination, I think she should run as an independent. A lot of people in this country want to see other choices in the main Presidential election and Clinton would be a viable candidate. If the Dems insist on choosing Obama then they can expect that McCain will win and we'll have 4 more years of Bush policy. It's not something that a lot of people want but it beats having someone who would be willing to negotiate with terrorists at the drop of hat. It also beats someone who has surrounded himself with a bunch of racists and anti-semites in his campaign.

Race shouldn't be a factor in the race for President and neither should gender but it's been apparent that the Obama camp isn't innocent when it comes to pitching dirt. Obama said he didn't want anyone attacking his wife but yet it's perfectly ok for him and Michelle Obama to go after Bill Clinton and Cindy McCain. If his wife opens her big fat mouth then she's fair game. This woman is wanting to be First Lady yet has said how much she dislikes America.

One other fact that the media has failed to bring up is the now famous photo of Obama and Clinton at a rally in Indianola, IA. While the National Anthem is played, everyone but Obama has their hands over their hearts. He just stands there as if he's some foreign visitor. He's also got the support of Hamas who is right now hoping that he gets elected. He also has a shady past and despite telling everyone that he is a Christian, his father and step father where Muslim. Could be that the reason Obama is so willing to negotiate with terrorists is because he shares some of their ideals? Also, let's not forget he is friends with a couple of people who were members of the Weather Undeground.

There are so many red flags with Obama and I'm amazed how people can ignore them and vote for him anyway. I'm not saying that Hillary is clean but at least she's willing to keep on fighting and stand up to those in the Democratic Party who keep telling her to get out of the race. She's also standing up to all those media folks who also keep saying how she's lost and should bow out gracefully. The media seems to be very biased towards Obama so it makes you wonder if they've just simply joined the Obama camp and have become members of his propoganda machine.

Keep on fighting Hillary! Hopefully, you'll be the choice to go head to head with McCain.

I am amongst the minority of white women, in the age group 45-55, who plans to vote for the democratic nominee this year.....but really can't tolerate Hillary Clinton. Her attitude strikes me as one of "entitlement". I have been a fan of Obama since he became the a senstor in Illinois. And I was so hopeful that someone.....anyone.....would come forward and challenge Hillary Clinton. Thank God for Obama!

Hillary Clinton is coming across as a sore loser.

The states held their elections outside of the specified timelines provided by the DNC. Also Obama wasnt even on one of the two ballots, not to mention had not even begun campeigning.

The votes Hillary gained where not gained in a truely democratic mannor and should not be recognized. She lost, DONE.
