On Sunday, Sean Baumstark, one of four Sacramento residents to be diagnosed with Fredrich's Ataxia, ran in the California International Marathon, along with his group, de:terminance. ...
Thanks for your coverage of this event and of this individual. It is people like Sean who suffer from various deseases without anyone ever knowing. In many cases this may be a good thing, but it can be a problem when medical staff at large institutions such as UC Davis Med Center start by saying, "well you may know more about this than us," or "you have a vary rare and undocumented case."
Thank you for the coverage and support of stories such as this. Even if you don't realize it, each and every story written about rare medical conditions such as "Fredrich's Ataxia" brings both community joy from knowing a person such as Sean but it also brings us closer to finding a cure.
Thank you again and keep up the great work!

Amanda, Thank you for covering this marathon and bringing exposure of Sean to the public. I read the the article you wrote on him and it was awesome and inspiring. I was greatly touched and am even more proud of Sean. I always knew he was special but after reading the article, now know why. It is a comfort to know that he is surrounded by more and more people like you who give him the support and encouragement he needs to know he can overcome. Again, with deepest gratitude, Thank you!
