The problems are myriad: First, Gonzalez didn't have to answer questions as to the most controversial issues during his tenure. For example, his taking of $200,000 from the Foundation to "remodel his office", or the massive zero-interest home loan that the Foundation gave him. Or that he came into office getting Gerth's salary departing salary.

I apologize if this comment may seem offensive, but whoever interviewed Gonzalez did a very, very poor, one-sided job. I do realize that the writers are students and are in the process of learning how to conduct interviews, but this article an example of stereotypically poor journalism.

The list of Gonzalez's offenses are a mile long. Since arriving at Sac State in 1993 (as a student), I have seen gross incompetence and negligence, but never anything as severe as what has occurred under Gonzalez.
That the Hornet failed to bring these issues up in this article is patently ridiculous.

The real problem is not that Gonzalez is incompetent and corrupt. It's that organizations like the Foundation and the CSU Board of Trustees has enabled men like him. For example, the Foundation takes a cut of every business transaction on campus: They charge businesses rent, causing higher food prices for students, and they overcharge students on books. And then they take that profit and grease the wheels of administration - they hand out bribes.
Did anyone fail to notice the new bookstore?
