Eating healthy takes research and effort weather the diet chosen is vegan or the standard American diet.
This study--or the way it has been reported-- obscures the fact that MOST people do not know enough about nutrition. It's too bad that the Sac State nutritionist didn't note that the "fine line" separating nutritional knowledge from ignorance that she attributed to vegans is equally applicable to omnivores.
It's far more unethical for parents to feed their children artery-clogging high-cholesterol animal products, fast food, and snack foods laden with chemicals and additives than it is to feed them a well-planned vegan diet based on whole foods!
Malnourished and impoverished children cannot be equated to children with access to a wide variety of healthy foods. To generalize from the first group to the second is BAD SCIENCE!
