The reason people can't graduate is because degree evaluations wait until four (4) weeks before you graduate and then tell you that you need one (1) unit. Then when you attempt to enroll in that one (1) unit, you can't because you should have already graduated. If CSUS wants people to graduate they should:
1.) Get degree evaluations to you the semester before you graduate (giving you enough time to change your classes around if needed, or add a class)
2.) Have competent counselers (Someone should know what I need to graduate, before I walk.)
3.) Have a helpful administration (When you tell them you need to enroll, you get someone willing to help instead of, "The lady that handles that is on vacation until the end of August." and "I can't help you." And of course my personal favorite, "I don't understand what you need this for." (I need this because you told me to. Remember that conversation a week ago?)
4.) Know the answer to my questions. And if you don't know, don't guess. Try to find out, call me later, ask a friend. Heck, use Wiki, a magic eight ball, a ouija board, something that gives you a better chance of being right than whatever poor training they gave you.
Please do something before my four year plan turns into my forty year plan!!!!
PS. Someone should write an article about the lack of communication between students and administration
with the constant fee increase and certain classes not being offered every semester or more than once in a semester it can become almost impossible to finish in four years.
