Prop. 8: No simple solution available

Abstract:
Those of you who showed up to protest or support Proposition 8 this past week did participate in the system, but it remains unclear what impact your presence had....

First off.....Nice try on being unbiased........

Secondly, I somewhat agree with your proposal....

BUT AT THE END OF THE DAY>>>>

This issue as of now is not up to the proponents or the opponents of prop 8.
The issue is now in the hands of the courts.

I disagree that the protesters just want to hear their own voices......Ive been to many protests since Nov. 5th where the gathering crowd was nearly silent. Holding candlelight ceremonies, and inviting keynote speakers to encourage the many thousands.

I disagree with your proposal, divorce is already financial torture for those who simply just can not work out their differences...
Here is a solution...if religion and the restoration of traditional marriage is so important for these discriminatory people, why not at least give homosexuals the same legal rights as those heterosexuals who wish to get married...
call it what you wish domestic partnership, civil union, but at least give them identical rights across the board as those who are "married".

Looking at those protestors in the picture makes me laugh. Gavin Newsome's big mouth was the best thing for the "Vote Yes on Prop 8" people.

"Give them identical rights"? Gays can get married right now to a member of the opposite sex and they can bring new citizens into the community. For that responsibility they should get some consideration as the community benefits. Gays being in a relationship bring nothing to the community why should it reward them again? So we can document the end of that family tree perhaps?

It is all to pointedly clear that the State Hornet is bioased in their presentation of this issue. In the article and opinion on the Prop 8 protests there is a reference to the "Promiscuous" gay teenagers at the protest. Were these teens having sex at the protests? If so, then shame on them. If not, which is what I tend to believe, how can you ethically refer to them as promiscuous? I have never been proud of this paper due to it's serious lack of editing quality (punctuation, misspelling, and bad grammatical structure to say the least.) But when it stoops to low brow name calling, that is just shameful. I feel sorry for the journalism field and department if this is the best they can put out.

Perhaps the "Editor" should go back to class and learn about journalism or get a job at Fox News, where ethics are not required, instead of supposedly publishing a neutral paper.

or married couples who choose not to have children?

or if someones married partner goes to jail?
