Provocative act in stereo(type)

Saturated with sarcasm, satire and racial slurs, the 90-minute original performance of N*GGER WETB*CK CH*NK, or N*W*C for short, is to hit the stage for free in the University Ballroom tonight at 7. A mixture of stand-up comedy, drama and poetry, N*W*C, which is sponsored by the Multi-Cultural Center, is an attempt to break social barriers of stereotypes among ethnic groups, Allan Axibal, one of the co-writers and cast, said. Sacramento State's Budget Task Force released a report today detailing the university's $6.5 million budget deficit. The report explains the reasons the deficit has grown from $2 million in 2005-06. It also gives recommendations to help make future budget processes less confusing. (0) comments

The Sacramento International Folk Dance and Arts Council just celebrated it's 51st year, and it's third year performing at Sacramento State with the Camellia International Folk Dance concert. The California State University Board of Trustees voted Wednesday to increase the state university fee by 10 percent across the 23-campus system for the 2007-08 academic year. According to a CSU press release, undergraduate students will pay an extra $252 a year. The trustees said the system would still have among the lowest fees in comparison to institutions around the nation. (0) comments

Rachael Cowham, a creative writing graduate student, said she has been involved with the event in the three years that she has worked at the Aquatic Center. Daily pass increase to stay for 30 years?

On Jan. 29, the price of a daily parking permit went from being $2.75 to $5 to help pay for Parking Structure II and Parking Structure III. The fee increase was recommend by University Transportation and Parking Services and the increase was approved and put into action and will last for at least 30 years, UTAPS Director Nancy Fox said.
