The NBA season is about to begin, and everyone is in first place right now (even the Kings!). But when it's all said and done, and the never-ending NBA playoffs are finally over, the Phoenix Suns will be NBA Champions.
There are plenty of quality teams in the league that could compete for a title, but all of them have flaws.

Sacramento State cross country and track and field runner Jeffrey Paneda knew going into the February 2007 Big West Indoor Championships in Bozeman, Mont., was a long shot for him and was likely to not add many points to a team in desperate need of them.
Predicted to finish seventh in the 800-meter and with the Big Sky Championship nearly in the Hornets' grasp, it was time for the then-junior to rise to the occasion.

The Sacramento State Hornets may be 1-6, but have played much better than the current record portrays. "We just didn't get it done," Coach Marshall Sperbeck said. "We just keep coming up a little bit short - it's a process we're going through to turn the program around. We have great success, then we take a step back." (0) comments

They can't score on anybody, but they sure can bash each other The Giants manhandled the 49ers 33-10 on Sunday, sending San Francisco to its fourth straight loss after it started the season 2-0. Quarterback Trent Dilfer probably wishes he had sat this one out because the Giants punished the veteran quarterback all day to the tune of six sacks, two lost fumbles and two interceptions. I have almost run out of ways to say how pathetic and ugly San Francisco's offense is. It's more likely that we'll see Britney Spears open up a child daycare center before San Francisco scores 30 points this season. (0) comments
Strobe lights, loud music and the sound of bowling balls crashing into pins highlighted the third Annual Recreational Sports Bowling Tournament Friday night. County Club Lanes was the site as 32 Sacramento State students, staff, and faculty tossed strikes and gutter balls while black lights lit up the lanes.
The bowlers were put in teams of two, bowling as many games as they could in a two hour time frame with their top two scores counting towards their overall score.

The Hornets found the back of the net four times in a 4-0 victory over Eastern Washington Sunday in Cheney, Wash. It is the first road victory for the team after six unsuccessful attempts.
