Sacramento State professors and students have been working together to bring creative art, emotive music and original performances on stage for the 16th annual Festival of the Arts on March 11-15. "Basically, what we're doing is getting all of the arts programs together and they are scheduling events all within four days," Jeffrey Mason, dean of the College Arts and Letters, said. A combination of flavor

With seven band members and three amazing studio albums, Flogging Molly hopes to keep on track with its fourth album "Float."

Although "Float" does not have as hard a sound as the band's first two releases, it is much more similar to their previous album and is not weak nor lacking its hard sound. (0) comments

Visualize this: It's spring break and you are sitting on a white, sandy beach. The sun is glistening off of your body while your feet are in the hot sand, and there's a drink in one hand. The waves are crashing and in the distance you can hear tropical music playing in the background. (0) comments

Student campaign urges seatbelt safety

Deadlines, projects and papers, they all seem to get in the way of what is really important while moving toward a degree. However, five Sacramento State students are not getting tangled in the hustle and bustle, they are taking a progressive step forward and participating in a national competition to help promote seatbelt safety while driving. Fancy water: nutrition v. taste

It seems like there's a plethora of ways we can satisfy our thirst these days - what with tap water, bottled water and Gatorade. Also, if you don't like the taste of water, there are flavor enhancers like Crystal Light that give your water a flavor that makes getting your daily recommended amount of water a bit easier. 'UNHITCHED' a bad hook

Fans of the Farrelly Brothers have a new reason to tune in to Fox this Sunday night after "Family Guy." The Farrelly brothers have done it again with their wacky and oddball sense of humor, which clearly shines through in this new TV show. "UNHITCHED" is about four newly divorced thirty-somethings trying to make their way through the dating field once again after being taken out of the game. (0) comments

'King Dork' comes to Sac State

Author and punk rocker comes to read at Sac State

In high school Frank Portman, author of "King Dork," was a keen observer of the "socially unsuccessful." His novel, which is in the process of a movie deal, shares and reflects the same observations of a high school student in a "coming-of-age" environment.

"Coming of age stories are so popular because the characters are experiencing many things for the first time," Portman said. "There is a resonance and heaviness to that idea." (1) comment

When people think about positions, what generally comes to mind? Political positions? Democrats and Republicans? Nah. Maybe yoga positions? A little downward dog?

Instead, more than likely, thoughts go to the dark side - sex positions.

Couples engaging in sexual intercourse have a variety of options, position wise, to fulfill their needs. (3) comments

Arguably, most women want a man that's masculine, dresses trendy, smells good and has nice hair - or at least one that's not too over-sensitive and well-groomed. However, stereotypically, for many years men have been portrayed to be the exact opposite when it comes to physical features - long fuzzy hair, dreadlocks or just plain old matted hat-hair. We've seen them in either plain white T-shirts or graphic T-shirts, board-washed jeans and scuffled tennis shoes. But has Hollywood finally done away with this image? With Armani this, Michael Kors that and $1500 spa treatments, has society finally embraced the metrosexual man? (2) comments
