Let's be honest with ourselves: There is limited interest in the upcoming Associated
Students Inc. election. The last ASI election produced only a seven percent voter turnout among students and five elected officials who had to step down after their grades suffered. The next batch of ASI representatives will have to fight potential budget cuts and do its part to fulfill Sacramento State's Destination 2010 platform.

Believe it or not, MTV used to care about music. Laugh all you want, but it's true.
It wasn't that long ago either. It was a time when Run DMC was tougher than leather, Michael Jackson proved who was bad and Nirvana smelled of adolescent sweat.

Finding your personal identity is an arduous task to say the least, a labyrinth for many navigating the untamed seas on the horizon and the swells within. For some, that identity is forged either willingly or dictated by the circumstances (usually economical) around but in some way they find it, bind with it and finally transform into that being. Religious beliefs can consume your life. You can be an avid church-goer and be there every Sunday.
You can even score extra points with God by going to Bible study/youth group meeting/choir practice or what have you.

Since 1896 the Olympics have unified countries and allowed them to come together to celebrate the achievements of athletes, but with the games held this year in Beijing they have turned into a political mechanism that has disrupted their value to unite. (2) comments
Sacramento State could be facing turnover at its highest positions over the next few months. The turnover started for Sac State last semester when it lost one of its most respected and talented professors, William Dorman, to retirement and Vice President for Public Affairs Frank Whitlatch to Humboldt State, so that he could be closer to his family. For all of you that have ever been forced against your will to listen to Rush in a work environment or with an elderly relative, your parents or even a fellow church member...I feel your pain. Most of us have been there - all you can do is fight it and let the garbage go in one ear and out the other. (36) comments
"That's what she said." "I like to cuddle." "Save the drama for your mama." What do all three of these sayings have in common? All have somehow made it onto T-shirts and all of them I have spotted being worn on campus.
Of course everyone wants to be able to make people laugh and get complimented on what they are wearing. But in a prejudiced world where appearance tends to determine who your friends are, the decision to wear that screen tee could be more vital than originally thought, and it does have its positives as well as its negatives.

Since penning the article "Labor of Love" in the Advocate, a popular gay magazine, Thomas Beatie has been a lightning rod for criticism as well as a poster child for discrimination against transsexual and transgender individuals in America. Whether Beatie deserves our respect, denigration or attention in the first place is up to each citizen to decide. (13) comments
To some people, porn can be more of a drug than they realize. To my ex-boyfriend, this was an addiction beyond words.
At the beginning of our relationship, I never expected a thing. He was a gentleman, very respectable. Everything was centered on me and I never touched a door handle. However, every relationship starts out like this fairy tale and usually ends up disappointing you. It's perfect, fake and the truth is hidden between the lines.
