The Alliance for the CSU is facing a difficult battle in its attempts to fight Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's proposed budget cuts to the California State University system.

In order to balance California's budget for the 2008-09 fiscal year, the governor proposed a 10 percent funding cut for every department, agency and program in the state. This leaves the CSU system competing with every agency and program funded by the state for a limited amount of money. (1) comment

Current Associated Students Inc. President Christina Romero announced the executive and college directors for the 2008-09 school year tonight in the University Union.

Miguel Cervantes, executive vice president, was declared the new ASI president to a cheering crowd of about 50 students after he ran uncontested in the election. (1) comment
