For the seventh consecutive season, the Sacramento State women's tennis team will appear in the NCAA Tournament.
The No. 53 Hornets will play the No. 21 Arizona State Sun Devils in round one at 10 a.m. on May 9 in Fresno.

Good news can come in defeat as the Sacramento State baseball team learned this weekend after allowing two runs in the bottom of the ninth in an 8-7 loss to the Hawaii Rainbows Sunday at Les Murakami Stadium. The Hornets learned that they have clinched a spot in the WAC tournament after Louisiana Tech lost to the University of Nevada-Reno Sunday, 7-5. (0) comments
Although the women's golf team will not be competing at the NCAA West Regional Championship, Sacramento State's athletic staff has been working hard to finalize preparations for the event. The three-day competition will be held on the Orchard Course at the Lincoln Hills Golf Club. (0) comments
Matt McDougall has been kicking around a ball since 1997 and has no intention of stopping anytime soon. In addition to being the Sacramento State men's soccer goalkeeper coach, he also coaches for the San Juan Soccer club and the San Juan Thunders, while also playing professionally with the Major Indoor Soccer League as the goalkeeper for the California Cougars. Coach named Coach of the Year
In his third year as the women's tennis coach, Dima Hrynashka was named Big Sky women's Coach of the Year. He led the team to a 21-6 overall record and a 10-0 Big Sky record.

The Sacramento State women's rowing team was denied a third consecutive Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association title on Sunday when UC Davis won the championships. The Hornets' varsity four won a gold medal and the second varsity eight won a bronze model. (0) comments
It was a long road through different states with a detour in Tulsa, Okla., but Ashley Ast finally made it to Sacramento State and the track and field team. Ast started as a Hornet throwing far and just kept improving, said coach Kathleen Raske. (0) comments
