A full load of college classes is often difficult and time-consuming. When you add a part-time job into the equation, that's when things get really stressful. (0) comments
Like most Sacramento State students, I do not ponder the quality of the food choices on campus until I hear frogs in my stomach. At that point, my biggest concern is how close is it and how fast I can eat it. I decided that this year would be different. During the first few weeks of the semester I made a conscious effort to sample more foods on campus. (1) comment
The newest agent for global fear is the Large Hadron Collider, or LHC, an atom-smashing, 17-mile-long donut of peril buried deep under the Swiss-French border. (8) comments
Chickens have been spotted across Sacramento State and the campus is rejoicing in their renewed presence. (2) comments
The Student Health Center rejected me from accessing one of their basic services. This center, by the way, is possible in part because of student fees. (3) comments

Hugo Chavez is a nuisance. However, Chavez cannot be underestimated. Recently, he welcomed some Tu-160's to his country, antiquated fighter jets from Russia, in a half-assed attempt to flex geopolitical muscle while elevating tensions between two old Cold War rivals. What Chavez doesn't understand is that the only worthwhile Russian inventions are AK-47s, Tetris and Siberian Huskies. (1) comment
Hugo Chavez's mission to create a Venezuela free from capitalist views continues to be a threat to the United States. (5) comments
Music of pretty much all genres has seemed to exponentially decrease in quality over the past few years. Once upon a time, you could turn on the radio and hear a good song. Once upon a time, you could turn on the radio and hear originality. Once upon a time, you could turn on the radio and hear a song that means something. (1) comment
To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to share my concern about the article titled "Palin hardly represents women," which was published in the Sep. 10 edition of the State Hornet. The State Hornet author, Ms. Monasky, wrote, "I hope her dad rapes her and she has to carry that child to term. I bet you she wouldn't. I bet she'd grab a coat hanger herself and take care of it" in regards to Gov. Palin's views on abortion. I believe that Ms. Monasky is trying to assert that if Gov. Palin were in a similar situation, that she might change her beliefs on abortion. I would respect Ms. Monasky more if she were to simply state it, as above, instead of wishing an act of violence upon Gov. Palin. (0) comments
Dear State Hornet: As a faculty member and, moreover, as a human being, it was with great sadness that I read Hillary Geiger and Briana Monasky's attacks on Sarah Palin. (4) comments
The No. 1 fear of college students isn't doing the walk of shame after a night of beer bongs and body shots. No, the real fear is the dreaded freshman 15. (3) comments

When Howard Stern wants nothing to do with you, you know you have gone too far. Natalie Dylan, who is using a fake name for security purposes, is the latest Sacramento State alumnae to publicly humiliate this university. (7) comments

As a former opinion writer for The Hornet, I fully and faithfully support Briana Monasky's article, not just because I cannot stand Palin and McCain, but because I value the opportunity to voice one's opinion. I believe censorship undercuts democracy more than any other violation because once people cannot speak their mind without fear of censorship, then what is next? What do I mean by "next"? I do not know, that is what scares me (6) comments
It has become the new epidemic -no, it is not AIDS or small pox. The debt of consumers has escalated over the past decades due to credit cards. Are you getting harassing calls from creditors due to late payments? Don't worry. The majority of college students can relate to your crisis. Credit tends to be a tough concept to understand. How does a number determine what you can purchase and how responsible you are as a consumer? (1) comment

Words are powerful. Believe me, I get it. I am a journalism major with a capital 'J.' However, to think that in any way, shape or form I could actually literally mean harm upon Sarah Palin is ridiculous. Were you joking with all of these comments and letters? You had to be. No one could really think I would mean that, right? Apparently not. Apparently I need to clarify what I meant. (21) comments
