We all can agree on the significance of the upcoming presidential election. With that being said, it's utterly depressing to contemplate how pathetic both choices are. (7) comments
Stephanie Meyer's Twilight series is to young women today what Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles was to our mothers and older sisters. There is just something irresistible about the idea and the fantasy behind an undead man. (5) comments

If you're reading this - you probably couldn't go to Nevada, Virginia, New Mexico or another swing state to help bring hope and change to America on Nov. 4. But fear not. We can make history at Sacramento State by uniting as Californians to stop Proposition 8. (0) comments

This election season, Californians have many issues to consider and cast a vote on. Many of these measures stand to reshape the landscape of our culture, perhaps the greatest of which is Proposition 8, which hopes to ban gay marriage and put this issue to rest once and for all. This is not the first time the state of California has seen this measure. In May of 2000, it appeared on ballots in the form of Prop 22 and passed when more than 4 million Californians voted and 61 percent of the vote wrote in our law books: "Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California." End of story. (65) comments

I love election season. For my money - though it may be worth less with each passing day - the displays of sudden civic-mindedness that we've been seeing in the media and right here on campus certainly tops any other quadrennial event. (0) comments
