Neng Cha, a second-year freshman psychology major at Sacramento State, leans into position, one eye shut and the other narrowing in on the perfect shot. With one hard swoosh of the long pool stick, the cue ball rolls across the newly covered red felt, bumping a red ball just right and into the top left pocket of the pool table.
"What makes it fun is the socializing and the bragging about your skills," Cha said.

So! Another day, another argument. Seriously, when do these people not argue? Their pathetic arguments and catty remarks are almost as bad as the mini-skits MTV plays during the commercials. Shauvon had some "fun" the last episode; so she decided to take a step back, give herself a three foot gap and chill for this one. Smart move honey. (3) comments

At least in the beginning, one might have earnestly thought about the question, possibly answering with a reluctant yes, but at the same time describing that friends and family will be missed. On a Wednesday night, somewhere on the Sacramento State campus, an anthem is being sung. The term Walking Spanish is not to strut and speak in the foreign language, but refers to the acts of forcing someone to leave or do something he or she doesn't want to do. It has no direct connection to music, but guitarist Alex Nelson still deemed it worthy enough to use as the name of his band. So what's the big deal? Two albums dropping on the same day is nothing new, right? Yes, but we're not talking about just any two records. Kanye West's "Graduation" and 50 Cent's "Curtis" are the two most anticipated hip-hop albums of the year, plus either one can easily end up gaining the crown as the best hip-hop album of 2007. Influenced by rock groups such as Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains and Godsmack, Minus Halo said their unique style is similar to the timeless rock melodies of the '60s and '70s while also being alternative to the "heavy metal and acoustic sounds of today."
Sean Navin, bass guitarist of Minus Halo, said their sound is heavy but radio-friendly, which makes their shows loud and full of energy.

Recently, Westerns have not been a hugely popular genre in America. That is sort of odd since we invented it, but it is the only genre that America? Perhaps that is why James Mangold has chosen to remake the 1957 classic "3:10 to Yuma" to follow up his last directorial effort, "Walk the Line." In making a good Western, Mangold may be able to revitalize this somewhat stale genre while satisfying America's fast-moving digital culture. (0) comments
ANT will be invading Sacramento State tomorrow. No, not ants, but ANT, a comedian from Last Comic Standing. He will be performing at 7:30 p.m. in the University Union Ballroom.
ANT, whose real name is Anthony Steven Kalloniatis, grew up in Londonderry, N.H., which he jokingly described as the "whitest state in the union."

According to mikunisushi.com, Taro's opened in Market Square at Arden Fair Mall in November 2005. However, the Mikuni empire is much older. In 1987, Kotaro "Taro" Arai's parents opened a modest sushi restaurant in Fair Oaks to help support the family.

I was skeptical about this new restaurant I was about to encounter, for the single reason that I had not found a great Mexican restaurant in Sacramento. Tres Hermanas changed that for me. Its qualities had so much to offer to the newcomer that had a selected taste when it came to quality, authentic Mexican cuisine. (0) comments

Working in a place where I am the only male, it's hard not to be involved in the world of "female" magazines, especially when it's laid out in the break room. It never fails; there will always be a Cosmopolitan, or another magazine of that kind, sitting on the table.
I have gotten used to the bright colors, the gorgeous airbrushed celebrities and the ridiculous thickness of the magazine. It is the titles on the cover that I can never miss. They always jump out at me like a bag of marijuana on a teacher's desk.
