Nutrition Jamboree doles out fruit, information

Complimentary red apples, ripe bananas and oranges were given to anyone who walked by the table piled high with fruit in the Library Quad today.

Faculty Senate awards students with scholarships

The Sacramento State Faculty Senate awarded nine students with scholarships today.

The awards were for student achievement. To qualify, undergraduate students are required to have above a 3.5 GPA and be in the top 10 percent of students in their major. Post-baccalaureate students needed to be within the top 5 percent. (0) comments

College students know the dangers of drunk driving, but sometimes, a gentle reminder is required.

On Monday, nearly 30 students took turns sitting in the driver's seat with a headset strapped on. At the same time, they were manipulating the steering wheel, accelerator and brake. (0) comments

A new leadership club at Sacramento State might help allay the fears of anyone who has ever been afraid of public speaking.

Toastmasters Leadership Club, an international club, focuses on getting members comfortable with public speaking. (0) comments

Labor leader and civil rights activist Dolores Huerta encouraged audience members to become activists for political change during her lecture at Sacramento State on Thursday.

"We have to make change in this country by getting involved in political action and applying direct pressure on politicians," Huerta said. (0) comments

MOJO: 'Mad scientist' shows school spirit

Sacramento State student Lazarus Kauffman showed his school spirit when he was walking through Mariposa Hall on Tuesday.

The junior graphic design major won a costume contest in his typography class. The contest was designed so the 20 classmates could dress up as mad scientist fort an extra credit assignment, where Kauffman earned 10 points by winning with his outfit. (0) comments
