'21' a bust

Don't you hate it when a friend tries too hard? We can tell. That Forever 21 tube top just isn't her. And she doesn't usually say things like that. She's not that cool. She's not that suave and alluring. And it's not working. (1) comment

'Fatboy' keeps a good pace

There comes a time in most people's lives when they just want to better themselves. For Dennis (Simon Pegg), the chance to prove to everyone and himself that he could actually accomplish something was by running the Nike River Marathon. "Run Fatboy Run" starts out with Dennis (Simon Pegg) running away from his wedding and his pregnant bride Libby (Thandie Newton). (0) comments

'Brawl' a smash hit

Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the third game in the series to come from Nintendo, and the premise of the series is both simple and unique. Pick one of the many well-known Nintendo characters and knock around other well-known Nintendo characters until they fall off the platform in the stage and can't make it back. (1) comment

Imagine having a direct say in which artists get to rise to stardom and which ones end up fizzling into obscurity. Ursession, a new, free social networking website catering directly to the music community, gives users just that. Narb Avedissian, a former business and entertainment lawyer and the creator of Ursession, said he started the website last January because he felt there was a need to connect the fans with the music community. 'Drillbit' has full attention

For Wade (Nate Hartley), Emmit (David Dorfman) and Ryan (Troy Gentile), high school is a big deal. The boys have decided that as freshmen, they would make it their goal to be "cool" and to get girlfriends. On their first day of school, however, they become the victims of Filkin (Alex Frost), the infamous school bully. (2) comments

Musical comedy "42nd Street" comes to life as Sac State students perform

The tap dancing musical comedy "42nd Street," which brought the 1930s to 2008, is showing through Sunday in the University Theatre by Sacramento State Department of Theatre and Dance. The chorus and cast of 40 Sac State students acted, sang and tap danced for almost a full house on March 14, which was the opening night. (1) comment

As a 25-year-old woman, there are many things that still baffle me about men. For example, why do men miss the toilet bowl after years of practice or their fascination with porn? I get that men are driven by visual stimuli, but what's with the need to have a porn collection of more than a couple videos? The plot never changes.

But the one thing that still mystifies me about men is their fascination with video games. First off, I will admit that I like playing video games - but in moderation. What I don't get is the need to play video games for more than a couple hours at a time. (2) comments

Community art moves around campus, evolves

Many people enjoy art, but it is not always easy to make time to go and appreciate art in a museum or in a gallery. So, art major Mel Netherwood has thought of a way for the denizens of Sacramento State to enjoy art while they walk around campus. (0) comments

Adults 60 years and older have an excellent opportunity at Sacramento State to pursue a college education for a fairly inexpensive price.

Fans of light and poppy British singer songwriters with synthesized instruments will surely enjoy Mikal Blue's debut album, "Gold". (0) comments

Local ice cream shop offers only a small treat

Generally, if I walk into an establishment and a Lennon-McCartney standard is playing, I am guaranteed to love the place. Sugary treats promise to put you in a good mood but the Beatles serenading you in the background definitely helps. (0) comments
