Junior earns another Player of the Week
Softball's Jamie Schloredt was named Pacific Coast Softball Conference Player of the Week after the Hornets 3-1 victory over Portland State last week.
The junior hit .714, going 10 for 14, with six runs, three doubles, three homers, 11 RBI, which included two intentional walks.
During defense the catcher didn't allow a runner to steal recording 14 putouts and one assist.
Two track and field athletes make the mark, times three
Sophomore Ericka Violett and freshman Moira Robinson led the Sacramento State team at the Woody Wilson Invitational on Saturday in Davis.
Violett met the Big Sky Conference standards in the 100 hurdles, pole vault and triple jump. She finished the race in 14.46 seconds, cleared 11-05.75 on the pole vault and hit a 37-03.25 triple jump.
Robinson met the Big Sky Conference standards in the 100 hurdles, long jump and high jump. She clocked a 14.49 in the 100 hurdles, and cleared jumps of 18-07.25 and 5-05.00 in the long jump and high jump, respectively.
Twelve other track and field athletes met conference standards during the meet.
Half the team went to the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif. Daniel Imlach hit a regional qualifying standard in the pole vault with a height of 16-06.75.
Five women met Big Sky marks during the meet in Walnut.
Football team hit the field Saturday
Marshall Sperbeck and his team competed in its first scrimmage on Saturday, which was open to the public.
The football schedule is now up marking the second time in the record books to included 12 regular season games, six of which will be at home.
