The River City Wreckers and the Reno Big Horns took to the Hornets Nest at Yosemite Hall to play a friendly double-header exhibition, with a three-hour intermission in between games to invite spectators to try out the sport. The season ended for the Sacramento State women's tennis team when it lost to Arizona State 4-0 in the NCAA Tournament Friday in Fresno. After stomping the Big Sky throughout the season and during the Big Sky Tournament, the Hornets entered the NCAA Tournament ranked 53rd in the NCAA. No. 21 Arizona State got off to a good start when it won the doubles point with an 8-2 victory in the No. 1 match and an 8-3 victory in the No. 2 match. "Maybe we could have been a little more aggressive in doubles but their 1 and 2 in doubles are good and ranked," junior Luba Schifris said. (0) comments

Senior Raphael McFarlane is ending his senior year of competition strong. He earned All-America honors in the long jump at the NCAA D-I Indoor Track and Field Championships. McFarlane finished 13th in the field with a jump of 24-09.75. He had the eight-best mark by American student-athletes to become the first D-I Indoor All-American in school history.

Softball will face Fresno State in NCAA Regional
The Sacramento State softball team (32-19) will travel to Fresno for the NCAA D-I Tournament to play No. 16 Fresno State (51-11) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
UC Berkeley (40-24) and San Diego State (43-15) will be competing against each other at the Fresno Regional.

The Nevada Wolf Pack poured it on the Sacramento State baseball team Friday, winning the first matchup of a four-game series by a margin of 14-5 at Peccole Park.
Nevada's lead-off hitter Jason Sandoian hit two home runs and two singles in six at-bats as the Wolf Pack improved its conference record to 16-9 (29-19 overall).

Trailing 5-4 going into the bottom of the ninth inning of the first game, Nevada relied on back-to-back RBI singles that made for a dramatic win. With one out and the bases loaded, junior Jeff Roth (2-3) allowed Matt Bowen to hit a walk-off single down the right field line on a 2-2 count.
