• Covers and maintains a beat assignment, including consistent updates to a beat binder.
• Generates story ideas.
• Responsible for improving the quality and content of work over the semester.
• Attends staff meetings.
• Attends training workshops and guest speaker sessions.
• Reports to appropriate section editor.
• Maintains writer portfolio.
